Canadian Volunteer Service Medal
(1939 to 1947)

This medal was authorized as early as 1943 and issued unnamed in silver for eighteen months of voluntary service in the Canadian Forces. Those who served overseas were entitled to wear a silver bar on the ribbon which depicted a maple leaf.
